Luxol won their fourth honour of the season yesterday after beating Depiro 71-64 in a thrilling St James Hospital KO final. A balanced contest saw Luxol recover from a difficult start to head for half-time one basket behind, 37-36. Inspired by Sarah Pace, their top scorer with 19 points, Luxol hit top form in the third quarter to establish a six-point lead, 54-48. With five minutes left, Luxol seemed in control, leading 64-54, but the loss of Mollie Williams, fouled out, disrupted their display as Depiro levelled matters at 64-64. The tie swayed back in Luxol’s favour as they potted the last seven points after Depiro lost Latisha Belcher. Steffi DeMartino, of Depiro, topped the scoring charts with 22 points.
