Adele and the cast of Les Miserables put on a special show as they rehearsed for the Oscars.

Superstar Adele took to the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles first.

She dazzled the tiny audience of show workers with her performance of the James Bond theme Skyfall, hot favourite to win in the best original song category.

She giddily remarked: “We’re seated in the front row!”

Bookmakers William Hill say only Suddenly from Les Miserables offers any competition.

And fellow Brits Helena Bonham-Carter, Sasha Baron-Cohen and Eddie Redmayne were among cast members from the musical who were singing together for the first time.

Oscar nominees Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, and co-stars Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Tveit and Samantha Barks also rehearsed their performances on the Oscar stage.

They were backed by members of the musical’s stage productions from London and Broadway.

Les Miserables director Tom Hooper sat in the front row of the theatre as his cast sang together on stage.
