Emirates’ passengers will no longer have to worry about missing their favourite team in action after the airline introduced a live sports channel onboard its flights.
Sport24 is one of four channels available on the new ice TV Live system.
The others are BBC World News in English, BBC Arabic and Euronews.
February’s Sport24 highlights include English Premier League and Bundesliga football matches.
Coverage of more events will be announced soon, but 2013 will feature coverage of the Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open Tennis, ATP Tour Masters 1,000 Series, ATP World Tour Finals, US Open Golf, and the British and Irish Lions Tour.
In line with the announcement of a five-year agreement appointing Emirates as a Global Partner of Formula 1 starting with the 2013 season, ice TV Live will also include coverage of Formula 1.
The ice TV Live channels complement the full range of Emirates entertainment and communications options, including GSM telephone and Wi-Fi.
In 2012, Emirates introduced touch TV screens similar to those found on tablets and bigger personal TV screens.
Emirates operates flights on a daily schedule from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus.
