Ta l-ajkla attracts thousands again

Thousands turned up in Vittoriosa this afternoon for the second mass meeting by independent election candidate Nazzareno Bonnici ta' l-ajkla.

Members of the crowd, in a jovial mood, carried Maltese, EU and rainbow flags. Some turned up carrying the Roman Eagle normally seen in Good Friday processions.  However the letters SPQR were replaced by 'Zaren'. Others waved yellow and white balloons.

Some people had eagles painted on their faces, and one man turned up complete with a set of wings.

WEll, Mark, we do live in a democracy don't we. Who are you to judge............I think the beauty of democracyis that every 5 years, it is our turn to make our politicians squirm a little bit. Real issues that maltese and gozitans want discussed such as illegal migration, high gasoline and electricty prices are not not being discussed. No wonder, we want satire in our daily lives.

Now maybe you can get off your high horse and stop calling people names.

Please stop SHOUTING too.

@ Mark Montebello

So, according to you, calling a man a half-wit (as you have done) is not shameful, mean or immoral. Come off it.

Hey!! Where are the police to investigate those who gave Zaren that clock?
He is't a minister yet

I do not see much difference from these meetings and the ones made by the major parties.
There are plenty of people who went out for an outing. The major parties organise pre meeting party and an other one at the end. Many people go to the meetings to meet their friends and to party not to listen to what their leaders are saying.

its better to have people smiling and even laughing as both big parties laugh nehind our backs. now they are even trying to ridicule us infront of our faces

5 billion deficit? That's a new one. Dude, you may have got deficit and debt mixed up. Nobody ever said that the debt will be zeroed over the next 5 years.

Do not try to be a "Know-it-all" and state the obvious.

Who really cares what those people went for - serious reasons or for some light-hearted fun!!!

Irrelevant of why, it is great that some people took a less serious view of the overrated Maltese political rut that this island is stuck in... AND ENJOYED THEMSELVES!!!

dear Jane, in the last election he got one vote, his own, so I guess you don't have to worry about him. People are just having a bit of fun. They're just tired of listeneing to Gonzi and Busuttil making fools of themselves!

@ Joanne Spiteri - lanqas jien m'ghandi dubju li Tonio Fenech hadu r-rigal. Pero ghidli ftit Joanne u kun sinciera . . kieku kont int x'kont taghmel? tibghatu l'hemm? Hehhe biex tiskongra trid tkun pura. U jien nipreferi nies li jbillu subghajhom ghax nasal nifhimha, minn nies li jithamgu bid-drogi. Id-drogi jkissruh bniedem, il-korruzzjoni thammgu. Uhud minn dawk in-nies li jmorru ghal dawn it-tip ta' meetings huma nies li jkunu minn tal-ewwel li jmorru wara Muscat jew Gonzi taht it-tinda meta jitkellmu jew f'xi mass meeting. Nassigurak li hafna jmorru ghall-gost u biex jidhku naqa'. Imma mn'alla kien hu ghax qed inehhi naqa mit-tensjoni li hawn dwar din l-elezzjoni fit-tul. Fl-10 ta' Marzu naraw kemm ikollu total ta' voti...
