The general secretary of the General Workers Union, Tony Zarb, yesterday filed another two libel suits against the Nationalist Party media, bringing the total he has instituted against the PN to six over the last two weeks.

The latest cases are against Victor Camilleri, editor of newspaper il-Mument, and Nathaniel Attard the head of PN media, over what Mr Zarb said were libellous statements made by Samuel Grech, the president of a small union representing Arriva workers.

The GWU said in a statement that several contradictory, deceitful and slanderous allegations were made by the newspaper and Net TV in an interview they carried with Mr Grech.

Mr Zarb has also filed suits against Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, PN general secretary Paul Borg Olivier, PN president Marthese Portelli, deputy leader Simon Busuttil and Mr Attard over statements linking him to corruption.
