PN only party which can guarantee economic growth and jobs - Busuttil
PN deputy leader Simon Busuttil said this morning that the PN was the only party which could guarantee further economic growth and, therefore, job opportunities.
Speaking at a press conference, he said the promise to create 25,000 new jobs was central to the PN electoral programme.
While it was easy to make promises, the PN was being credible because it had a track record to be proud of and in its electoral programme it gave details of how the economy would continue to grow.
The jobs situation in Malta now was much better than most of the other EU member states.
The PN would continue to reduce income tax. As explained in this year's budget, those earning between €19,000 and €60,000 would see their income tax reduced from 35% to 25% over a period of three years.
A PN government would lower duty on the sale of property and remove this tax for property bequeathed from parents to their children.
The PN was promising lower taxes for the elderly who wished to work, free childcare facilities for all, and the possibility for parents to use their sick leave when their children were sick and needed to be cared for.
The PN was also proposing various schemes to reduce costs and encourage investment in various sectors of economic activity.

I wish I could believe at least this new PN deputy leader but so far he has proved himself less reliable and consistent than his leader. If only he stops his regularly gaffes, for which he has become notorious, he might start to enjoy some attention.

"The PN would continue to reduce income tax"
Simon this has alrady been promised in 2008 but it now emerges very clearly that it was just bait to lure the middle class segment.
Do you really think that the people can be fooled ALL the time?
Wouldn't think so!

Ahahaha - farsical. Proof is in the pudding....what we have now is what we expect. Alleged corruption that is not properly investigated but hushed up and higher taxes to make up for said corruption! Well done! Carry on...and keep Calm!

You don't need to be a genius to create jobs... when you have low wages and a educated work force! Its a non brainer for companies to come, add tax incentives and money incentives and you have the formula.
What is just as important is how far our low wages will go?.
I know what the PN offers, I also know what it doesn't.
