Gonzi highlights government's success in job creation

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning called on supporters to be strong and get moving.

“We are going for it. Step by step, day by day. Righteousness will prevail,” he said when speaking at Marsa.

Dr Gonzi spoke at length on job creation, which, he said, was among his government’s biggest successes.

Reiterating his claim that 20,000 jobs had been created in this legislature, he said that 25,000 would be created in the next.

Referring to the Insite leaders’ debate earlier this week, he said that whether university students booed or clapped, it was a job they looked for once they finished their course.

“Who will they trust most to create the careers they are studying for,” he asked.

Whenever there was a Nationalist government, Dr Gonzi said, it always made a success out of the employment sector, he said.

One did not create work just by wishing for it, he said. Employment was created by the private sector, which had to be incentivised for the purpose.

A Nationalist government, he said, would continue to place the creation of employment at the centre of its attention.

No, MR Camilleri, Labour has made it clear that prescription will also be removed for crimes which occurred BEFORE the law was passed.

The whole truth is that 20000 jobs were created, but 13000 were lost. Once you understand that you will agree with the NSO figure. But anybody as "Righteous as the PN only talks about the gain of 20000. They would not mention the loss of 13000 jobs. This is the new definition of Righteousness. We saw it in the 1,280,000,000 EUfunds we won. He did not say we have to give back 660,000,000

In politics, no one can claim to be 'righteous'. That, I'm afraid, is a divine quality. In politics, there is no such thing as 'right' It is all about 'might'. Anybody in politics, who proposes to be righteous or act so, is pulling wool over your eyes. Do not be so naive. Politicians are only motivated by self interest and ambition which they disguise as being there for you own dilusional good.

don't bet on it G. Caruana.... I would easily trust him on job creation as the proof is certainly, in the pudding and not in smoke !

Dak mhu xejn fuq l-isptar. Dil-gimgha kont l-emergenza hdejn area 3. Pazjenta li kienet fil-kuritur fuq stretcher imqabbda bil-maskla mat-tank tal-ossignu, hin minnhom gew u hadulha t-tank biex jiehduh f'erea ohra tal-emergenza (probabbli ghax ma kellhomx aktar tankijiet). Fi ftit sekondi dil-mara bdiet tghajjat bla nifs u hsibniha ha tmut, kulhadd jigri ghal nurse sa ma dahluha gewwa f'area 3.

Government has a say on job creation even in the private sector which depends on the amount of bureaucracy in place.
