The Air Malta 'Love Plane' organised yesterday was sold-out.

The round trip flight, which was given the number KM0214 to match Valentine’s Day, took off just after 8pm and returned at 10pm.

It took the couples over the Sicilian coastline - from Mount Etna to Reggio Calabria while Air Malta's Valentine's guests enjoyed a romantic dinner in a Club configuration at an altitude of 14,000 feet.

Air Malta's guests were pampered with full VIP treatment from a specially decorated red-carpet check-in to a champagne and canapés reception at the La Valette Lounge, courtesy of Malta International Airport.

Upon boarding, they were greeted with flowers and champagne followed by a special dinner.

There was live romantic music onboard by saxaphone player Walter and artist Peter Grech from Peter & Papps surprised the couples with a live romantic song.

The couples received a complimentary 'Love Bag' which included a pearl pendant and a heart-shaped chocolate box.
