Ta l-Ajkla promises 'biggest ever' mass meeting
Nazzareno Bonnizi, the independent candidate who will contest the general election under the banner of Ta l-Ajkla said this morning that his mass meeting in Zabbar this Saturday will be Malta's biggest ever.
He said on TVAM that he expected 250,000 to turn up, using 400 buses in Malta and 55 in Gozo. The number of people, he said, would stretch from Zabbar to Fgura.
In his interview he criticised the fact that because of the general election, only two of Malta's six MEPs are currently working in Brussels.
He suggested that unemployed benefit should be doubled but the unemployed should then be put to work.
He also reiterated that if he becomes king-maker after the general election, he would lead a government with the PN for two-and-a-helf years and an equal period with the Labour Party.
Mr Bonnici repeated his proposal to build a power station using seawater, although he admitted it would need a miracle.
He called on supporters not to believe the leaders of the major political parties, and for the prime minister to resign because of the hardship caused, particularly with the high power bills.

I watched the interview this morning. I disagreed with the way the presenter tried to take Nazzareno Bonnici for a ride with silly questions intended to make us all laugh. Mhux sew!

He is going to build a power station...wow...I know of another politician who is going to build another power station...it would be a bit hard to choose betwen the two.

one of them said it will be build it in less than 24 months! He also washed his hands and put all responsibility on the deputy leader after vowing that he would resign if this miracle does not happen. Well he will have the deputy leader to blame and that means he will keep punishing us for at least five years!

This guy's dress-sense says it all. He looks - and sounds - like a schoolboy who's been in a fight in the school-yard, and lost. In the video at the end he sounds like he ran out of steam, run out of funny things to say.
What with the Pope's untimely resignation detracting from the seriousness of the electoral campaign, the last thing we need was Nazzarenu Bonnici. But we did get him, so enjoy.

But then Nazzaren you will have to ban the hunters for good, otherwise they won't let you have that decent bird eye view you speak of !! Bigger mass meeting ever - i believe it could be even bigger considering workers who can't make it on the day. Good Luck.

given that malta's population is at 409,000, expecting 61% to attend to the meeting is quite a challenge, dear Mr Bonni(z)i.
funny as he looks, i still prefer him than the 2 leaders we have at this time..............................

I must congratulate Pierre portelli for conducting the most difficult interview of this campaign! The suffering was evident on his face! But joking apart. The idea of making a power station run on sea (Wave) power is not that far fetched.

Comedy is a must in any election....the thing is ...while these characters make us cry with laughter, the other two serious political parties make us cry .......just simply cry. Most especially with their electoral incentives, a good example being i-pad for all kids and their bickering.
Mr Stanley Fenech
Feb 14th, 11:46
Mr. Azzopardi, just for your information, neither of the parties promised i-pads. They are mentioning tablets, which nowadays can be retailed at slightly more than Eur100, which can be drastically reduced when tendered for bulk buying (even from different retailers). On the other hand, I agree with the rest of your comment in general.
