Blizzard slams into Canada's east coast

A record-breaking blizzard that slammed the northeastern United States has moved into Atlantic Canada.

The storm brought whiteout conditions to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Stretching from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Coast, the mammoth stormed dumped more than three feet of snow in places, cutting power to at least 700,000 homes and businesses in North America.

At least half a dozen deaths were also attributed to the blizzard.

Meteorologists said the storm was expected to dissipate as it moved from west to east.

1. Dear John, lets not be jealous now :) I think both places have their pros and cons... Malta just has many more pros then Canada! Im sure that in 1979 when you left Malta Canada looked pleasant but today Malta has become the envy of many. And if we want to compare weather then thats not even a starter as everyone knows that Malta has the healtiest weather. The average temperature in August

N.Pace,
I've got central air conditioning for the 30 degree weather we have in Summer here but I wouldn't like to sleep in the cold humid houses in Malta during winter. Here we have central heating for the cold that you mentioned in winter. ;)
