I got to know Val through my father in law, Paul Arnaud and I always treasure the talks we used to have. Apart from being a great musician he was a fun loving gentleman always with a joke and a smile on his face.Rest in peace my friend.

I have had the honour of knowing Val. A lovely fun gentleman. He was a great musician and a superb tutor. Gave me great inspiration playing the saxophone. My deepest sympathy for all his family and friends. God Bless you Val. I will miss you greatly.

It is ironic that Val should pass away at this time of the year. When young I attended many of the carnival dances at which his band played. RIP

Val was a great person and musician. He was always committed to the musicians' cause. I treasure the times I had the honour to back Val and Oscar Lucas on various music occasions. I remember Val once a week at 2 different hotels, one that I use to work in and the other where I use to go every week.
