I got to know Val through my father in law, Paul Arnaud and I always treasure the talks we used to have. Apart from being a great musician he was a fun loving gentleman always with a joke and a smile on his face.Rest in peace my friend.

It is ironic that Val should pass away at this time of the year. When young I attended many of the carnival dances at which his band played. RIP

Val was a great person and musician. He was always committed to the musicians' cause. I treasure the times I had the honour to back Val and Oscar Lucas on various music occasions. He was always down to earth and understanding. May God rest his soul in peace. My sympathy goes to all his family and friends.

I remember Val once a week at 2 different hotels, one that I use to work in and the other where I use to go every week.
RIP, and thanks for your music, with which I'm more than sure you made a lot of people happy.
