Heavy rain and hail saw carnival participants wrapping up their floats in plastic to prevent them from being further damaged.

The floats cost thousands of euros and took months to build.

They were meant to be taken up to Floriana this evening, but Carnival Participants Association president  Jason Busuttil said they will hopefully move to the capital tomorrow.

Despite more bad weather forecast for tomorrow, the participants were busy at work all day, fixing the damage caused by the rain that poured down yesterday and early this morning.
