All proposals made by the Nationalist Party in its electoral programme have been copied by Labour, deputy leader Simon Busuttil said yesterday.

“They took all my ideas and put them in their manifesto,” he told supporters during a political activity in Villa Arrigo.

He invited the media to check the proposals, particularly those regarding primary healthcare, the PN’s chosen topic of the week.

Given a choice between the real Nationalist Party and the party that was trying to be PN, voters should choose the real thing, he said.

He warned that Labourites had started to wear a Nationalist cloak but once the election was over, the wrapping would come off and the real face of Labour would be uncovered.

Behind the Nationalist packaging one would find the likes of Karmenu Vella, Alex Sceberras Trigona and Evarist Bartolo, he said.

Speaking about healthcare, Dr Busuttil said this sector cost the Government €1 million a day. The PN was committed to maintain free healthcare and keep improving its quality, but to do this it had to make the right choices, such as the decision taken in this legislature to close the shipyards.

The shipyards accounted for €1 billion of the debt that the Labour Party was warning about. Dr Busuttil recalled that the PL had even taken to the streets to protest against the shipyards’ decision.
