All proposals made by the PN in its electoral programme have been copied by the PL, Simon Busuttil said this morning.

Speaking at a political activity in Villa Arrigo he said: “They took all my ideas and put them in their manifesto.”

He invited the media to check the proposals, particularly those regarding primary healthcare.

Dr Busuttil said that given the choice between the PN and the party trying to copy it, he would choose the real thing.

He warned against those who had started to wear a Nationalist cloak and said that, after the election, their packaging would come off and the real face of Labour would be uncovered.

Behind the Nationalist packaging one would find Karmenu Vella, Alex Sceberras Trigona and Evarist Bartolo, he said.

Dr Busuttil said the government spent €1 million a day on health and to maintain free healthcare and improve its quality. This remained the PN’s commitment over the next five years .

The decisions the PN took in past five years, he said, included the closure of the shipyards.

The shipyards accounted for €1 billion of the debt that the Labour Party was warning about but the PL had criticised this decision and protested against it in the streets.

The Nationalist government paid a political price for its decision but he was still satisfied and proud of the fact that his government acted responsibly as it chose to invest in healthcare rather than the bottomless pit of the shipyard
