When interviewed with reference to his comments on Anġlu Farrugia’s resignation, Alfred Mifsud said that this was his personal opinion as he had a mind of his own and is not influenced by anyone.
However, he seems to be impressed by superficiality. For instance, in 1996, building of the MLP headquarters in such a short time was to him indicative of a five-year effective performance. As everyone knows, the Labour government had lasted only 22 months.
Only recently, he wrote about the exceptional leadership skills of Joseph Muscat because of his drastic request for the resignation of Farrugia – his loyal deputy leader – to the extent of branding it a master stroke. One hopes this country is not on the verge of experiencing similar master strokes within different contexts or, for that matter, more of Leo Brincat’s arrogance as was evident in a recent edition of TVAM with regard to a leading presenter, Joe Mifsud, who was simply posing pertinent questions that would keep the public informed.
It is, of course, completely in the hands of the electorate to decide on the ‘Malta they want to live in’ for the next five years.
