Labour’s proposals for the fishing industry have already been implemented by this Government, the Rural Affairs Ministry said, referring to a meeting held between Labour leader Joseph Muscat and fishermen on Saturday.

A commission representing the sector already existed, Budget 2013 had already proposed compensation for the closed season, and the Government had already spoken to the cooperatives over the issue of a tender for a bigger say in the hardstanding project, the ministry said.
