Gold-hearted explorers are wanted for charity trekking in South Africa.

Walk South Africa is a charity challenge that will raise money to transform a disadvantaged township community in Cape Town.

Intrepid travellers from around the world will challenge themselves to walk 101km and change lives.

Beaches, mountains, forests and African bush... the seven-day trek crosses some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, and finishes on top of Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain.

By taking part, participants will be raising money for SAVE, a registered non-profit organisation providing sustainable community development projects in the township of Dunoon.

In this community, people live in makeshift shacks of scrap metal and wood, share outside water taps and toilets, and receive no support from the Government.

Taking place from October 27 to November 9, Walk South Africa’s 13-day itinerary includes two days with the township community, experiencing how their fundraising has made a difference.

After the walk there is a celebration day at four wine farms and free time to enjoy Cape Town. Walk South Africa will also organise tours for any group of four or more people.

Each participant will receive an online fundraising page and the dedicated support of a fundraising manager to help them in their sponsorship efforts.

The cost of Walk South Africa is dependent on the level of sponsorship participants can raise. Anyone raising over €2,750 receives the trip for free (excluding flights), and the cost of the trip for anyone raising over €1,595 is €499.
