The PN is proposing that all business licences fees related to Gozo will be slashed by 90 per cent in the next legislature for Gozitan business to flourish.

Addressing a political activity in Marsalforn this morning, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said Gozo had always been close to the PN and the party had always given the island due consideration when in government.

The policy of promoting Gozo further would continue in the next legislature through different proposals.

Dr Gonzi said that the PN's electoral programme proposed specific incentives to encourage new five star hotels to open on the island.

Businesses were also being given a further push as those who decided to open a new business on the island and employed two people would be given a two-year tax holiday.

The PN would also continue to dedicate 10 per cent of EU funds to Gozo.

Dr Gonzi said that in the past legislature major projects were carried out all around Gozo with state of the art roads, new terminals at Mgarr and Cirkewwa and the opening of public spaces, including the multi-million refurbishment project of Villa Rundle.

The Prime Minister said that half way through the electoral campaign, the Gozitans like the Maltese, still did not know what Labour stood for as the party was still without an electoral programme.

He said that apart from a lack of experience, Dr Muscat's Labour also lacked ideas.

"With all our defects, you can be sure that with us you know where you stand because you know us well. With labour you are lost," Dr Gonzi said.
