On October 26, 2012 a car contravention was issued. The car was transferred to our name on November 22, meaning it was not yet registered in our name when the contravention was issued.

We then wrote to the Petitions Board to say that the contravention was issued incorrectly, but the board turned down the appeal and asked us to plead our case before the local tribunal on Monday.

This is a waste of time causedby a mistake for which we are not to blame and does not make sense.

When we pointed this out we were advised nothing could be done since the Board of Petitions had rejected our appeal.

We were advised to write a letter to the Commissioner of Police.

The Local Enforcement System and the police have all the means to check when the car was transferred, and should not waste the time of ordinary citizens for a clear administrative error.
