Five players were handed a one-match ban by the Malta FA Disci-plinary Commissioner yesterday after the last round of BOV Premier League matches.

Balzan defender Matthew Mendy and Kane Farrugia, the Floriana centre-half, have been disciplined after both saw red in their teams’ last outings.

Mendy, sent off for two yellow cards in Balzan’s 2-0 defeat to Hibs, will miss Sunday’s match against leaders Valletta.

Farrugia was dismissed for committing a handball in the penalty box during Floriana’s 1-1 draw with Rabat Ajax.

The former Mosta defender and English midfielder Carl Tremarco, banned for one match after four yellow cards, have been ruled out of Floriana’s clash with Hibs tomorrow.

Tarxien Rainbows will be without Andrezinho for Sunday’s league game against strugglers Rabat Ajax after the Brazilian midfielder collected his fourth booking in Monday’s 3-0 defeat of Melita.

Stefano Bianciardi will have to skip Sliema’s match against Ħamrun Spartans on Saturday to serve a one-match ban, also for four yellow cards.
