Matthew Bajada, 25, of Sta Venera was this afternoon found not guilty of masterminding the importation of some 21,000 ecstasy pills in January 2009.
The not-guilty verdict was delivered by a jury after a trial which started last week.
A co-accused, Joseph Camilleri, 56, from Rabat, last year admitted to his involvement in drug importation and was jailed for 12 years and fined €20,000.
