Procter & Gamble’s Tide detergent was on display at a Wal-Mart store in Chicago last week as the world’s largest household products maker posted higher quarterly profit on Friday. P&G earned $4.06 billion in the fiscal second quarter ended in December, up from $1.69 billion a year earlier.
