The head of FIBA Europe Competitions and Referees Department and instructor Richard Stokes will be making a brief visit this weekend as a special guest of the Malta Basketball Association (MBA).

Stokes will conduct a short referees clinic over two days.

While the main aim of this activity is to technically further develop the referees sector within the MBA, it should also help Maltese officials to keep in touch with the latest developments in the sector as well as to point out critical game situations and give an in-depth analysis of modern officiating criteria.

Adopting programmes prepared by FIBA Europe, Stokes will also give a detailed talk on specific on-court situations during matches.

On the final day of his visit, Stokes will monitor local league matches and give his feedback to referees using the new and highly-efficient FIBA Europe Observer Programme.
