Bullying case: Accused's parents file judicial letter
The parents of a child who has been accused, with three others, of bullying another student a year and a half ago, have filed a judicial letter against the parents of the victim, alleging abusive behaviour.
In the incident, at Stella Maris College, the victim was slightly injured when he was tied to a football post with a scarf.
Four boys were charged and while three admitted their involvement, the fourth did not.
The parents of the fourth boy filed their letter, through lawyer Roberto Montalto, claiming that although the victim’s parents knew that their son was not involved and there was no evidence against him, they did not want to drop the charges. This, they said, was abusive.
The lawyer called on the parents to withdraw the case against his client.

why do you need to invent a full story on every article that is written. we don't know the whole story and how it even started!! sometimes it's us parents that make the story bigger and bigger while the children are already friends and playing together again.

This bullying against such students is a very dangerous game that in some cases can put the victim in a dangerous situation, even on his state of mind. Some victims can be driven to hurt themselves, I will not go any further.

I do not know the details of this case, but are we sure it's about bullying?? I mean from based only on what is contained in this article it sounds like a few kids joking around... Rough jokes are rather normal especially in boy schools.
I stand to be corrected if there is more to it than what is written here.

Thats very true, it might be wisest to enrol the bullied child to Krav Maga lessons, so he can joke rough too, next time round... :)

Although I dont know the whole story, this sounds more like a prank.
Most kids incurred and orchestrated similar and worse in my schooldays.
Hardly prosecution stuff.

Not admitting does not make you innocent.

Presumption of Innocence until otherwise is proved. Eventually if there is no prove against the boy, the charges have to be dropped, even if it is not fair, but there will be no basis for allegations.

I guess this is one way of stopping bulling school or at the work place which is universal. What about the teachers, surely Stella Maris college is a well discipline school i am surprised that the teachers did not do anything about bulling, cause if i remember correctly according to Maltese friends of ours, Stella Maris College is a renowed school for disciple and excellent behaviour.

I agree. I was a student at SMC until 1995 and yes, is was a very well-disciplined school. Pranks were common (and one may be forgiven to think that this was a prank) but if I recall correctly, very little bullying went on.

We should remember there is always an excuse given for violence - but there is only one acceptable excuse and that is seff defense.
