• The next Malta Chamber of Scientists’ Business and Scientific meeting is a presentation by Dr Aaron Casha entitled Balloons, Domes and Monkeys – a Tale of Chest Biomechanics, to be held on Thursday at 6.30pm in the Music Room, St James Cavalier, Valletta.

Dr Casha will discuss the modelling of the chest and how such tools provide an insight on how coughing can tear a newly operated chest apart and what can be done to prevent damage.

He will also present a study on how chest wall shapes have changed from primates to humans. A discussion will be held after his presentation.

Science professionals, educators and students are welcome.

• The Malta Dyslexia Association is organising its first month­ly talk on Friday. The activity starts at 6.30pm at St Paul’s Hall, Catholic Institute, Floriana.

This session will be an opportunity for association members to address their concerns. Ruth Falzon from the University of Malta and MDA president Carmen Muscat will be facilitating the session.

• Fr Paul Camilleri will give a talk on the roles of infidelity and faithfulness in marriage, next Sunday at 4pm at the San Ġwann parish centre. The talk deals with the main ingredients for peace of mind and security in a marriage. It is open to married and engaged couples wishing to find out more about living their marriage in today’s world.

• A seminar on Adlerian Counselling and Therapy will be conducted by William Nicoll from the Univeristy of Florida Atlantic between January 29 and 31 from 5 to 8.30pm at the Institute for Marriage and Family, 1, Oratory Street, Naxxar.

Prof. Nicoll is an internationally renowned expert in individual and family counselling, brief counselling and therapy, and resilience.

The seminar, organised by the University’s Department of Counselling, will explore Adlerian therapy alongside other theories, approaches and models, its contribution to counselling and therapy, and its limitations.

Attendance is valid for Continued Professional Development purposes. Places are limited.

• The 46th Rudolf Dreikurs International Summer Institute will be held from July 21 to August 3 at Wageningen, The Netherlands.

This is an educational programme of the International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes (ICASSI) specialising in psychology and the teachings of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs.
