• The feast of St Anthony the Abbot is being celebrated at Xagħra today. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass at 8.30am. The Victory Band will play marches at 9.30am. The statue of the saint will leave the church at 10am for St Anthony Square, where the blessing of horses will take place, followed by a horse défilé along St Joseph and Church Streets. A dog show by the Xagħra council will be held at St Anthony Square at 11am. A procession will leave the parish church at 4pm, accompanied by the Victory Band. Mgr Grech will bless animals on St Anthony Square at 4.30pm.

• The Federazzjoni Maltija Vetturi Antiki will today be organising three rotating static shows. Participants will meet at Għajnsielem at 9am and will be directed to their respective show location in Nadur, Victoria or Qala. The award presentation will be held in Nadur.

• Brave will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• The inauguration of San Dimitri chapel, restored by the Għarb council, will take place today at 10am.

• A special Mass for children will be held at the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria tomorrow at 5pm as part of the activities in honour of St John Bosco. The Mass will be led by Fr Michael Said.

• Reflections on the life of St John Bosco will be led by Fr Carmel Curmi at the Don Bosco Oratory chapel on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7pm. On Saturday Fr Charles Cini will lead a solemn Mass at 7pm.

• The Legion of Mary (Gozo), the diocese of Gozo and the Anglican community will hold an ecumenical service at St Augustine’s church, Victoria, on Wednesday at 6pm.

• The feast of St Francis de Sales, patron saint of journalists and writers, will be celebrated on Thursday. Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass at the church of the Franciscan Sisters in Palm Street, Victoria, at 5pm.

• A public talk hosted by the Family Commission of the Gozo Diocese will be held at Villa Fiorita, limits of Marsalforn, on Saturday between 5 and 8pm. The theme chosen is Iż-Żwieġ Storja Gdida? The speaker will be Rev. Dr Paul Galea.

• A special buffet lunch will be organised next Sunday on the feast of St John Bosco. Booking is from the Don Bosco Oratory.
