BORG CARDONA. On January 18, at Villa Messina, ANTHONY, aged 68, former director general of the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise & Industry and former treasurer to the Malta Community Chest Fund, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He is mourned by his loving wife Carmen née Falzon, his children Angela and Matthew von Brockdorff, Joanna and Stefan Farrugia and Mark and Natalie née Vassallo, his grandchildren Sandie, Christian, Julia, Louie and baby Ella, his brothers and sister David and Myriam, Alex and Danielle, and Annamaria and Joe, his in-laws Mary and Victor, Helen and Reno, and Joe and Carmen, other relatives and friends, especially his dear friend Donald Pace Bonello. The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 1.30pm for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. On January 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSA, née Mifsud Speranza, aged 83, widow of Salvinu, Founder of Brincat’s Group of Companies, passed away suddenly, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Marianne and her husband Lello Massa, Fransina and her husband Maurice Abela, Doris and her husband Tony Mangion, Mario and his wife Lucienne née Sciortino, Gregory and his wife Kristine née Borg Busuttil, Josette and her fiancé Martin, her sister Theresa wife of John Tennyson of Scotland, her brother Derek and his wife Lina, her in-laws, her beloved grandchildren Victoria, Giuseppe, Marianne and their spouses, Bernard and his fiancée Daniela, Andrew, Matthew, Claude and Diane, her great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for St Catherine parish church, Żejtun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Żejtun cemetery. GRECH. On January 18, CATERINA of Żejtun, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Jane, widow of Ġużi, Stella and her husband Danny, Salvu and his wife Grace, Paul and his wife Carmen, Katy and her husband Fritz-Peter, Maria and her husband Nicholas, Joseph and his wife Jennifer, Lawrence and his wife Susan, Eugenio and his wife Susan, Tessie and her husband Michael and Denise and her husband Donald, nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday at 2.30pm for St Catherine parish church, Żejtun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.15pm, followed by interment at St Gregory’s Cemetery, Żejtun. SPITERI MALLIA. On January 18, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, LAURA, née Bencini, widow of Anthony and mother of Josette, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, aged 97. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Joan, widow of Herbert Warrington, her son-in-law Harold Harris, her beloved grandchildren Sandy, Fiona and her husband Tatti, Bobby and her husband Steve, Alan and his wife Sharon and her great-grandchildren Adam, Benji, Nick, George and Max, her sisters Grace Aquilina and Mabel Azzopardi, her sister-in-law Lucy Bencini Testaferrata Bonici and all her nephews and nieces. The funeral cortège leaves Casa Antonia today at 8.15am for Balzan parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
