Staff of Japan Airlines’ (JAL) entering the company’s Boeing Co’s 787 Dreamliner plane at New Tokyo international airport in Narita, east of Tokyo, yesterday, after the plane made an emergency landing because of problems with the battery. Airlines around the world have scrambled to rearrange flights as Europe, Japan and India joined the United States in grounding Boeing Co’s 787 Dreamliner passenger jets while battery-related problems are investigated. Inset, a Japanese investigator carries a battery which was taken from the All Nippon Airways’ Dreamliner. Investigators said the battery was blackened and carbonised on the inside and had leaked oil. It was also five kilograms lighter than usual.
