Most of the UK doesn't have a strategic snow plan in place (like Canada, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia) because it's more economic than spending a fortune on preparing for weather that might not happen or lasts for just a few days.

have you ever been to Canada when it snows?! It might last a few days in UK (I don't know as I've never been there) but it certainly doesn't last a few days in Canada. If precautions are not taken, everything stops

It's two years since we had come serious snow, so as Terry Courtnadge says people are not willing to leave millions of Pounds' worth of equipment rusting in sheds. Canada has the snow every year, so it has to be catered for. Anyway kids love snow- keeps them from going to school!

Yes, I agree, that's my point - Canada etc. have to be prepared EVERY year without fail while UK doesn't because snow is not guaranteed, so why have expensively prepared plans in place that might not be needed.

What fun! Obviously Norwich Council was a bit slow in getting the gritting lorries out. We have been warned this was coming for days.
