Since you felt the need to give this matter a political connotation, may I please point out that only a part of our popluation can afford to travel abroad, and this is diminishing! We all now that we now have the record number of people under the poverty line!

@ norman Grech

Maybe I go to the wrong places but I always see restaurants with plenty of patrons whenever I visit Malta.

@ Mr Tony Gatt

You can go to Brazil and find many people with mansions and massive gardens, see packed restaurants etc. Are you suggesting that there is no poverty?

You also forgotton to mention that nearby Sicily and Italy no doubt is much CHEAPER then spending a week in Gozo - Agree? over in Gozo the farm house owners just do not look at our faces but they focus on the colour of our money, mainly in Marsalforn and Xlendi in some restaurants, the waiter have a habit of herding us all like sheep,

The Maltese should start realising that there are more beautiful countries than just Italy and England! In fact, England isn't that beautiful at all in my opinion.

yes maybe we could kill two birds with one stone and tie a huge rope to gozo and malta and join us up to italy thus saving the expense of gozo ferry or the expensive bridge we keep hearing about

What nonsense! It's cheaper to book a return ticket to anywhere in Europe than to drive a car for a few hours in Europe!!!

Visiting another EU country is not just being a tourist but seeing and feeling how the rest really live. This insular mentality that most Maltese have needs to change and this is only possible by traveling abroad. My point is that for most Europeans visiting another country is just waking up in the morning and say, where shall we drive to today. Living in Luxembourg gives you this freedom.

william cauchi It is the P.N's fault that you were born in Malta and that Malta is an Island, and therefore you cannot "just wake up in the morning and say, where shall we drive to today. Living in Luxembourg gives you this freedom."

What a patethic statement.

@ Mr. Sechell, pathetic are those that need to put politics into every subject that one discusses, even if you talking about cabbages.

Why has Malta come to this?

@M.Seychell:
I read both Mr. Cauchi's comments three times and nowhere did I read anything about PN, PL or any other political remark! It seems that the election campaign is wearing you out and everything you read, you read red and blue! There is more in life than politics. I wonder who's the one making pathetic comments!

Raymond Sacco You are absolutly right i wish the Maltese give their silly Politics a rest, i hear them arguing from morning till night, enough to give my ass a headache haven't they got nothing else to pass the time apart from PL / PN or what ever or counting their money or moaning how bad business is,yet most are laughing all the way to their banks. For God sake turn it up & give it a rest eh.
