Paul Dimech and Joseph Attard are holding security guard Stephen Ciangura responsible for any damages they suffer after accusing them of not having a permit to operate.

In a counter protest, they argued that the claims made against them by Mr Ciangura were unfounded, baseless and aimed at procuring financial damages.

Mr Ciangura complained in a judicial protest last month that he had lost a contract to a company that did not have a licence to operate when he bid to offer security services at the New Year’s Eve event organised in Valletta and Floriana.

He said the contract was given to Mr Attard and Mr Dimech even though they had not paid the police licence for three years.

Mr Dimech and Mr Attard are insisting that they have the necessary qualifications to operate and offer their services.

They claimed that Mr Ciangura was not in a position to offer the service because he was a lance bombardier with the Armed Forces of Malta.

The counter protest was filed by lawyer Ian Refalo.
