Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this evening that Labour leader Joseph Muscat’s promise to resign if he did not deliver on his energy plan meant that he was taking the way out.
"By then the damage to the country would have been done," Dr Gonzi said when speaking at a PN activity in Dingli.
“The skill lies in making the right choices in the first place,” he added.
Dr Gonzi reiterated his concern that Labour's plans would derail Malta's finances. He cautioned that, if government finances were not sound, everything else would collapse.
He also criticised the delay of the PL in coming up with its energy proposal. “Not even a dinosaur takes five years to be born,” he said, adding that the proposals had been discredited by experts.
