PN, PL agree measures to avoid clashes
The PN and the PL have had a meeting with the Police Commissioner during which they agreed on measures aimed at avoiding clashes between supporters.
The parties said they were urging their supporters to avoid any clashes. During and after the electoral campaigns, supporters may not travel on open trucks or vans. Nor should they use derelict and unlicensed vehicles.
In clubs and other properties used by the parties, no loud music may be played after 10 pm.
The parties also agreed guidelines on the behaviour of their journalists at political events
PN General Secretary Paul Borg Olivier and PL President Stefan Zrinzo Azzopari urged supporters to act with prudence, tolerance and respect.

:The Police Commissioner should never allow two rallies by different parties so close together on the same date and at the same time. The Gozo one is a perfect example of the above and this is the first two rallies.

This is all provocation from the PN side. They should have never copied the PL and organised their meeting in Gozo. It is so obvious that they are trying anything to provoke.

Why not pre-announce any arrangements by both parties for celebrations?
It's normally intrusive on the 90% of the routine of the population who do not feel they have to spend a couple of days getting drunk and disorderly just because the party they voted for got elected.
Why not suggest areas where stages /party areas would be set for the end of the electoral campaign and the same be re-used?

If PN want to avoid clashes, then they should not have copied PL and organised their meeting in Gozo in the first place!!!!

Although meetings were held with the Police Commissioner to avoid clashes and how supporters should behave during this electoral campaign is truly positive, I will always be discouraged with how the PL supporters celebrate after all these years in opostion !

In 1996, there was not one incident of violence when Labour won - not one.
In 1998, all Labour billboards were burnt under to the ground, in full view of the policemen present, and PM Fenech Adami refused to condemn these acts, saying the people were "euphoric.

@Jay.
12 points behind the PN and a completely disorganised GonziPN with outdated ideas and dormant will cause the complete collapse of the PN party.

@victor laiviera, Bill boards will be burnt to the ground even this year if they are left as they are, whoever had the brilliant idea to change them into commercial adverts overnight was ingenious.
As for your fanatic ideas you should not even speak considering nationalists burnt posters, prosit well done, lejber fanatics burnt THE TIMES OF MALTA! and Eddie's home and PN CLUBS SHAME!

One hopes that the PN will respect this agreement better than they respected the so-called truce over the Christmas/New Year period.

Well done we should all behave in a civilized manner, and all political parties should be responsible for their messages to be delivered in a mannerly order.
