Just to continue, airlines such as Air Malta and Lufthansa are not struggling on their routes to Malta, their flight are invariably full. However, they have a different business model as they offer a business class cabin where they make very large margins on those seats.

Not me, I never fall for the " more legroom, better cabin staff, nice meals, more comfortable " hype from high cost airlines.
It is sooooo easy to book for easyjet / ryanair flights, once you read all the details required, and I have NEVER found a cheaper price with high cost airlines, over low cost airlines, whenever I fly.

Have any of the " high cost " airline lovers ever wondered why the " low cost " airlines, with all their alleged hidden costs and alleged poor service, seem to thrive ? Where as the " high cost " airlines are struggling.

Their is a simple reason for these airlines to show "good" numbers. Many of their passengers never check other airlines to see that they could probably travel cheaper and more comfortably. The hype and marketing used by low "cost" airlines means that many assume they are cheaper and book without checking other alternatives. I know many who do this and fall for the hype.
