Rockna live and unplugged CD

Now in its third year the Rockna radio show that I host is preparing to welcome more of Malta’s bands and artists in its studio at Radio 101.

To date, the show has featured over 140 different local acts, among them a few artists who are based abroad but have a Maltese connection. A good number of the guests also perform live and unplugged during the show, thanks to which an extensive archive of live recordings has been amassed.

Last November, the digital compilation Rockna Live and Unplugged was released as a free download, partly to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of Radio 101’s 1992 Watching the Music CD compilation, and partly to offer followers of the local music scene a taste of the music that has graced the local airwaves since the radio show started airing back in July 2010.

Featuring artwork by Pierre Portelli and post-production by Antonio Olivari, the album’s 13 tracks can be streamed on the landing page of the M3P website (www.m3p.com.mt) or downloaded as a zip file from the actual page dedicated to the compilation within the M3P website.

The Rockna Live and Unplugged album is supported by Radio 101, Reciprocal Records and Merc Clothing.

Rockna is broadcast every Friday from 7.15pm to 9pm on Radio 101. For more information and updates, join the Rockna group page on Facebook.
