The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has to change the way in which it operations Nature Trust is saying in its proposals to political parties for their electoral manifestos.

The organisation said the environment had been given too much of a low profile for a long time and while certain areas such as waste and education had been given some attention, other areas such as MEPA, law enforcement, marine protected areas, Natura 2000 sites and biodiversity were still lagging behind.
