The Broadcasting Authority has dismissed a complaint by the Labour Party about Bondiplus of October 30 and November 13 saying the party’s complaint was unjustified

The party had complained that on the October 30 programme, a clip from Net News about comments by Labour spokeswoman Helena Dalli had been broadcast together with comments by PL MP Gino Cauchi, which it said were taken out of context, and by PL MP Silvio Parnis, which the latter had made about a year before.

The party complained with the station, which invited the PL to take part in the November 13 programme to answer and present its case.

But the PL said that the programme had not remedied the shortcoming as the Net News spot was broadcast once again, reinforcing the PN’s message.

To present its argument, PBS gave the authority a recording of the item to show that it was not the same clip that had been broadcast in the original programme.

It said that an edited version of the item had been necessary for viewers to know what the PL was replying to.
