Small oil firm Leni Oil & Gas has launched legal proceedings against its former partner Mediterranean Oil and Gas, claiming it was misled into selling its interest in a Maltese oil field.

Leni sold its 10 per cent interest in Malta’s Area 4 PSC to MOG for $1.

Soon after, MOG reached a $10 million (€7.7 million) farm-out agreement with Genel Energy.

Leni’s management claims the company was misled by MOG when it sold the company its interest.
