The police are on the lookout for a man who held-up Scotts Supermarket of Triq Burmarrad, Burmarrad this afternoon.

The robber, who was hooded and armed with an iron rod, entered the supermarket at around 3.30pm, grabbed a salesgirl from her hair and demanded money, the police said.

He escaped after he was given the money. The amount stolen is not yet known.

The salesgirl was not injured but several people are being treated for shock at the supermarket.

A magisterial inquiry is being held.
