Police said the accident happened at about 2pm and he died shortly after admission in hospital.

Sources said the elderly man was wheeling his motorcycle into his home when he was hit by a Mercedes C200 driven by a 50-year-old Żebbuġ woman, about 200 metres from the Valletta police station.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli conducted an onsite inquiry and appointed court experts to help her.
