Vice-president of International Diabetes Federation
Chris Delicata was recently elected vice-president of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF-Global) for 2013-2015. He takes up office from January 1.
Mr Delicata will be a member of the federation’s executive board. He was also appointed chairman of the External Relations Board Committee, which oversees income generation, corporate partnerships and communications, and will also serve as a member of IDF’s advisory committee.
Mr Delicata, who has been actively involved with IDF Europe since 2003, has just completed his four-year term as president of the federation after having served as treasurer and vice-president. He was also a member of IDF’s Audit and Risk Management Committee for 2009-2012 and a member of the federation’s executive board representing the European region.
Mr Delicata is also an active member of the Maltese Diabetes Association and currently serves as its vice-president.
In 2011, he was awarded the CIVI Europaeo Praemium – the European Citizen’s Prize – by the European Parliament in recognition of his work to help diabetes sufferers in Europe.
