St Joseph Mater Boni Consilii School, Paola, recently inaugurated a Community Garden at Wied Blandun, Paola, just two minutes on foot away from the school premises. The students will use the garden as a nature trail and to conduct field work. Each class was assigned a part of the garden where to grow flowers as well as herbs to be used in cooking lessons. The project forms part of the HSBC-ES Climate Initiative in conjunction with Ekoskola. Photo shows members of the school’s Ekoskola planting a Sandarac Gum (Għargħar) tree, Malta’s national tree, in the garden.
