TSG launches Don’t Drink and Drive campaign

The Sense Group (TSG) has launched its festive season campaign with the main message being to enjoy alcohol in moderation and avoid driving afterwards. TSG has also revamped its website www.drinkawaremalta.com.

The campaign with the message Just Don’t Drink and Drive urges partygoers to plan ahead if they intend to drink. One could recommend friends and relatives to take it in turns not to drink alcohol and drive the rest of the group safely back home.

“Appeals for alcohol moderation are heeded by most consumers, but efforts are still needed to ensure safety,” said TSG’s director general Ray Grech.

“Besides, it is easier to hire a minibus or a taxi rather than driving your own car, trying to find parking, refraining from taking a drink and driving back home in congested traffic.”

This year’s Christmas campaign is a follow-up to an earlier campaign with the message Don’t Overdo It, which ran on social media targeting young binge drinkers, playing on the shame and embarrassment of seeing pictures of themselves drunk.

The TSG website also features a new quiz, a test-yourself facility aimed at young people to see how much – or how little – they know about how excessive alcohol consumption can affect the brain.
