HSBC Malta’s branch in Żabbar has been refurbished to meet the group’s Branch of the Future standard.

The branch’s new layout features five new office spaces and two counsellor positions with improved privacy. Two latest technology Automated Teller Machines have been fitted to offer high quality functionality and improved accessibility.

There is also a self-service deposit machine, an internet kiosk with a private desk and direct access to HSBC’s contact centre.

“The superior customer experience at the new branches was achieved through close attention to our customers’ evolving needs and community requirements,” HSBC Malta chief executive Mark Watkinson explained.

“As well as being more attractive and comfortable, the redesigned layout offers more private areas where customers may discuss their requirements and financial decisions.”

HSBC Żabbar team members, led by Julie Bonnici and Sandra Cassar, have undergone training on customer-centric principles to tie in with the global concept of the new branch design.

With the two new ATMs in Żabbar, the total next-generation ATMs in Malta and Gozo is now 39.

This development is in line with HSBC’s €10 million branch refurbishment programme, and the further €3 million being directed to the installation of next-generation ATMs.

HSBC’s newly refurbished branches are located in Buġibba, Ħamrun, Swieqi, Paola, Żejtun, Mosta, Żurrieq, San Ġwann, Birkirkara and Żabbar.

“HSBC’s new ATMs are quicker, and offer a more straightforward user experience,” retail banking and wealth management head Paul Steel said. “The new ATMs accept loose cash and cheque deposits without the need for a deposit envelope, while providing customers more detailed information about their transactions.”
