Josef Grech’s biography Duminku Mintoff u Malta was launched in front of the Palace in Valletta this morning, the 28th anniversary of when the late Prime Minister resigned to be replaced by Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici.

Mr Grech, who set up the Mintoff Foundation while serving time in prison over fraud-related charges, said that the last part of the book was written from prison, where Mr Mintoff used to visit the late President Agatha Barbara, who was arrested after she was found guilty of intimidation during the April 1958 strike action.

He said the book covered Mr Mintoff’s life in detail, starting from his birth and a controversy that had come up because of a mistake in his birth certificate.
