Seasus Limited won the award for Best Use of Social Media with its corporate social responsibility initiative on Facebook for the Malta Community Chest Fund at the second MCA e-Business Awards. It was the second year the company won the award.

The L-Istrina donation application, entirely developed by Seasus, is a means for all Facebook users to make their donation online using debit or credit card. In its first two years of operation, the app contributed nearly €50,000 in donations.

Managing director Kenneth Bone said he was honoured to receive this award which reconfirmed Seasus as the Maltese company leading the local social media market. “Receiving the award for a noble cause makes it even more prestigious as it proves how web technology, social media and charity can work successfully together.”

The award was shared with President George Abela.

“It is rewarding to receive a recognition for an idea which was initiated by Seasus three years ago, and which has grown into such an important medium for donation collections as part of our global campaign. This application allows us to open new doors for more donation opportunities from all over the world, thanks to Facebook.”
