Derby off: Arsenal have postponed their Premier League game with West Ham on December 26 due to planned industrial action affecting London’s Underground transport network. Arsenal said the disruption meant that supporter safety at their Emirates Stadium could not be guaranteed for the traditional Boxing Day fixture.

Balotelli: Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has accepted a two-week fine and dropped his appeal against the club. The Italy international’s lawyers were yesterday due to present their case to a Premier League tribunal, who were due to hear his appeal against a club fine – reported to be around £340,000 – on Balotelli last season for on-field indiscipline, causing his unrest.

Santana: Torino winger Mario Santana could spend a month on the sidelines after suffering a leg injury. The on-loan Fiorentina player had to be withdrawn after nine minutes of Torino’s 1-1 draw at Genoa and medical tests have now identified muscle damage as the problem. Santana will miss Torino’s home game with Chievo on Saturday.

Biglia: Anderlecht are de-manding eight million euros for midfielder Lucas Biglia, who is interesting Milan. The Argentina international has attracted the attention of the Rossoneri in recent months, with rumours circulating English clubs including Norwich and Newcastle could also be interested in the 26-year-old.

Mueller: Thomas Mueller has agreed a two-year contract extension with Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old midfielder, a product of the Bavarian club’s youth system, has put pen to paper on a new deal until June 2017. Mueller, capped 38 times by his country, joined Bayern aged 11 and played at every youth level before making his Bundesliga debut in August 2008.
