• Today the village of Santa Luċija is celebrating the feast of its patron saint. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass at 9am. Mgr Joseph Grech will lead the procession with the statue of the saint at 4.45pm.

• Nadur council will today be holding an open Christmas market at St Peter and St Paul Square. Food, clothes, household goods, Christmas decorations and other items will be on sale. It will be open from 8 am to 6pm.

• Battleship will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• Playful, an evening of short plays by the 356 Company, will be held at the Gozo Ministry in Victoria today at 8pm.

• The Gozo School of Art and the Gozo School of Drama will present Christmas Show Time at the Aurora Theatre in Victoria today at 4 pm.

• The Gozo Padre Pio Prayer Groups will today welcome the relic of St Pio during their Advent retreat at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces. Fr Alfred Scerri celebrates Mass at 9am. After a short break Fr Daniel Xerri will deliver a talk on St Pio. Dinner will be held at the friary’s refectory. All devotees are invited to attend.

• On Friday, the Padre Pio Prayer Group of Victoria will be holding a prayer meeting at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, including Mass at 6pm, followed by a get-together.

• The 21st ecumenical and socio-cultural international celebration for Christmas is being held at St Joseph parish church in Qala today between 6.30 and 8.30pm. All foreign nationals residing in or visiting Gozo are invited to attend.

• An antique art and furniture exhibition is being held at St Ursula Hall at the Citadel in Victoria until December 31. Opening hours are from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and from 11am until 3pm on weekends and public holidays.

• The Bishop’s Conservatory Secondary School is staging a musical, A Journey of Faith, at the Astra Theatre on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Tickets will be sold at the door at €2.50.

• An exhibition of sacred art, Incarnation, will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary exhibition hall in Victoria from next Saturday until January 6. Opening hours on weekdays are from 4 to 8pm and on weekends and public holidays from 9.30 to 11.30am and from 4 until 8pm.

• The Tramps will be singing Christmas carols along the streets of Victoria on Saturday at 5pm. Father Christmas and helpers will be collecting donations for the Arka Foundation.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Saturday at 7pm.

• The Diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at St Francis church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Nadur council is holding a live concert by ABBA Gold (Tribute Band) at L-Arċipriet Martin Camilleri Square (il-Pjazzetta) on Wednesday. Cash & Band will open the concert at 7.30pm. In case of bad weather the concert will be held at the band club’s theatre in Nadur. Entrance is free.

• The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will give a Christmas concert at the Cathedral in Victoria on Friday, at 7.30pm. The Jubilate Deo Choir will take part. Entrance is free.

• The Għaqda Armar Festa San Ġorġ, in collaboration with the Astra Theatre, will present Miliedfest at the Astra Theatre on Saturday at 8pm. The show will feature the La Stella Band, the Laudate Pueri choir, Centre Stage Dance Academy, The Power House, Dance Cradle and the La Stella Children, Youths and Adults Theatre Company. Booking is open at the Astra Theatre daily between 7am and 10pm, or by calling 9902 1591.

• A Maltese Christmas traditions event is being held by Heritage Malta for children at the Gozo area office at the Citadel in Victoria on Saturday between 9am and noon. The maximum number of participants is 15. The price is €5 per entrant. Refreshments will be served. • A Christmas concert, Venite in Bethlehem, will be held at St Margaret parish church, Sannat, next Sunday at 6.30pm. The concert will feature Georgina Gauci (soprano), Jacob Portelli (harp), Frank Camilleri (cello) and George Camilleri (euphonium). Entrance is free.
