Malta Enterprise is promoting the Business Development Scheme, a programme intended to facilitate the creation of high-value-adding projects which will have the potential to give a boost to Malta’s regional development through substantial job creation.
The scheme is aimed at supporting the initial development phase of businesses which choose to establish an operational base in Malta.
This incentive is open to organisations engaged in manufacturing industrial services, ICT, biotechnology or in other innovative or high value-adding operations. Malta Enterprise is committed to support a range of projects which may give a significant contribution to Malta and Gozo’s regional development.
The aid to be granted is expected to take into consideration the potential contribution which a project will have on the Maltese economy as well as the number of potential jobs it will generate.
The total aid package per eligible organisation cannot exceed €200,000 over a period of three rolling fiscal years and may be used to support various costs related to the realisation of the proposed project. Costs include professional and consultancy fees, selection process and recruitment of staff, relocation costs of personnel, capacity building, transport and freight costs, setting up costs and, costs related to the difficulties encountered by businesses which choose to set up an operation in Malta.
This scheme runs until December 31, 2013. More information can be obtained by contacting Malta Enterprise on 144 or at info@maltaenterprise.com.
