Fr Cyril Axelrod, a deaf-blind priest, will be visiting Malta to spread his message about the need to empower and learn from disabled people.

He will be narrating the experiences of his extraordinary life in a meeting with the public on Friday at the Qrendi parish church at 7pm.

Fr Axelrod, who was born in South Africa and is the author of the book And The Journey Begins, was the first Catholic priest to be born deaf and later became blind. He sees his “deaf-blindness” as a blessing and a powerful teaching tool.
